Mary C. Petropoulos, MD, FAAP

Dr. Petropoulos is a native Texan born and raised in Austin. She attended The University of Texas at Austin where she received a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with High Honors. She then obtained her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1994 and subsequently completed her pediatric internship and residency at the Texas Children's Hospital and Ben Taub Hospital in 1997.

After completing her training, Dr. Petropoulos returned to Austin and joined the private practice of Dr. James Strong with whom she worked for the following 9 years until his retirement in 2006. In July 2006, she continued her practice with Austin Children's Clinic and moved it to its current location in the newly constructed facility at Ladera Park suites. Dr. Petropoulos is married and a proud first generation Greek-American. She is also fluent in Greek.

Dr. Petropoulos is Board Certified and a Fellow of the American Board of Pediatrics. She is also a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Travis County Medical Society and the Texas Pediatric Society.

In case you're wondering, her name is pronounced like metropolis but with a "P".
